Welcome

Hi, I’m Namu! I work as an enterprise and daily reporter at The Springfield Republican/MassLive. I am based in Western Massachusetts.

At the heart of my reporting are issues related to racial and economic justice. I have reported on people hobbled by the worsening housing crisis, student protestors calling for change at their universities amid Israel’s occupation of and ongoing war in Gaza, questioned why there is a lack of diversity in local politics and much more.

I have some basic coding and visual storytelling abilities from an 11-week intensive course I took at Columbia University. Some of my projects are here. I am eager to develop these skills.

In 2022, I was awarded the New England Newspaper & Press Association’s “Rookie of the Year” for my work over a one year period from two newspapers: The Somerville Journal and The Enterprise of Brockton, both a part of the USA Today Network.

My work has also been published in The Associated Press, The Boston Globe, GBH News, the USA Today Network, and others.

I have a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Boston University. When I’m not interviewing the interesting people I come across in my work, I enjoy trying new restaurants, finding a new TV show to watch, and road-tripping through New England.
